The Federal Government has announced the approval of what it called “safe reopening” of schools nationwide in the next phase of the gradual easing of lockdown implemented to curtail further spread of COVID-19 in the country. However, not all students are allowed to resume as only graduating students will resume. The ban on interstate movement has also been lifted, effective from July 1, 2020 . The Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, disclosed this at the ongoing daily briefing of the task force in Abuja on Monday. He said the reopening of schools was meant to allow students in graduating classes resume preparation for examinations. He disclosed that the latest developments were contained in the task force’s fifth interim report which was submitted to the President Muhammadu Buhari, earlier in the day. The Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 has reduced the curfew, saying it will now be from 10 pm to 4 am.   The National Coordinator of the PTF, Dr Sani Aliyu, announced this on Monday at the daily briefing of the task force in Abuja. He said: “Effective from tomorrow, Tuesday, June 2, 2020, the easing of the lockdown will be characterised by the following: The nationwide curfew will remain in place but the timing of this will be reduced to 10pm-4am.” “And just to clarify, the purpose of the curfew is to limit social interactions and, therefore, reduce the risk of transmission of the virus,” he added. Dr Aliyu emphasised that persons who are on essential duty remain exempted from the curfew as the nation moves into the second phase of the gradual easing of the COVID-19 lockdown. The Federal Government has declared Monday and Tuesday – May 25 and 26, 2020 – as public holidays to mark Eid-el-Fitri celebration. The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, made the announcement on behalf of the Federal Government.   This was contained in a press statement by the Director of Press in the Ministry, Mohammed Manga, on Thursday. He advised “ Nigerians to see themselves as a single entity and learn to tolerate one another despite their ethnic and religious differences”.   Aregbesola further assured Nigerians that the regime of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.), was fully committed to battling COVID-19. He called on Muslim faithful “ to replicate the life of kindness, love, tolerance, peace and good neighbourliness as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW)”.

A man was in need, he took a loan, bought a house, it was about to be seized, just because he could not pay the loan as agreed. He posted his situation on Facebook looking for help, he announced his problems to his place of worship even to some of his big friends but all he could get was zero comments. So he sent 250 messages to his contact list requesting a loan of ₦200,000. Unfortunately only 10 people responded. 6 out of 10 said they could not help him. And only 1 out of 4 who promised to help and gave him some money.  The other 3 gave excuse and never took his calls.  In the end, he was ejected. He did not have a place to sleep. President Muhammadu Buhari has approved a gradual easing of lockdown measures in Lagos, Ogun and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The three locations had been put on lockdown since March 30, 2020 as part of measures to combat the spread of the coronavirus disease that has infected over 3 million people across the world.
