Be Mindful of How we Address One Another

I was in class that fateful Friday afternoon teaching my students when she raised her hand to ask a question. I permitted her and she asked a rather too simple question that I supposed she should know the answer. I had already covered that topic the previous week. "Will you sit down there! With your Ugly face! Olodo!" was the only answer I gave her. The whole class bursted into laughter and she looked embarrassed. I went on with my lesson but felt somewhat guilty over what I had said. I finished my class and left. On Sunday, I went to Church. The preacher was talking about the tongue and its power. He spoke about how you could bring others down by what you say. I remembered what happened on Friday and became guilty. I swore I was going to apologize to her on Monday when I got to the class. On Monday afternoon, I went to the class but I didn't see her. I asked after her from her coursemates but they didn't seem to know who I was talking about. I then said I was looking

Akpabio pledges legislative backing for military

Akpabio pledges legislative backing for military The President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio has assured the Nigerian military for the unalloyed support of the 10th Senate. Senator Akpabio who represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the Special Guest of Honor at the launch of the book entitled, “Terrorism and counter terrorism in North East Nigeria – Emerging Perspective and imperative of Airpower”, made the pledge while speaking to newsmen after the event. Akpabio noted that the military had done so much to keep peace in the country and commended the officers while stating that the senate would back the military with legislation and appropriation that would make their jobs easier. “It is always encouraging to hear from the gentlemen of the press that the military and entire defence force in Nigeria have tried, because sometimes what you read on social media is very sad and apaling. The efforts they’re making, even the supreme sacrifices some of the men are paying in other

After trying the knot, A Nigeria man has filed for divorce!

Weeks later after tying the knot, a Nigerian man has filed for divorce over his wife's rude behaviour towards his mother. His wife and mother had a physical exchange at their wedding reception that saw both parties slap each other. Not heeding to appeals from his mother to forgive, the man is hellbent on ending things with his estranged wife. A marriage of two days has hit the rocks. It happened that a couple from the groom's mother's side graced the occasion at a time edibles were finished. A portion of food the bride left for her parents was the only delicacy available. The mother-in-law had approached her daughter-in-law and whispered to her, appealing to get some of the food to give the couple as it would be unfair if they got nothing after coming from afar. The bride refused bluntly, saying the food was for her parents. After unsuccessfully pleading with her son's wife, the mother-in-law used a plate to scoop some food herself but the bride took back the food and p

THE MARRIAGE SECRETS

✍🏾1 Everyone you marry has a weakness. So if you focus on your spouse's weakness you can't get the best out of his strength. 2.  Everyone has a dark history. No one is an angel. When you get married or you want to get married stop digging into someone's past. What matters most is the present life of your partner. Old things have passed away. Forgive and forget. Focus on the present and the future. 3.  Every marriage has its own challenges. Marriage is not a bed of roses. Every good marriage has gone through its own test of blazing fire. True love proves in times of challenges. Fight for your marriage. Make up your mind to stay with your spouse in times of need. Remember the vow For better for worse. In sickness and in health be there. 4.  Every marriage has different levels of success. Don't compare your marriage with any one else. We can never be equal. Some will be far, some behind. To avoid marriage stresses, be patient, work hard and with time your marriage dreams

THE VALUE OF EACH OTHER!

THE VALUE OF EACH OTHER As much as the world around us tries to lure us into self-dependency, God created us for each other. For community. For a life that’s not alone. The author of Proverbs said it like this: “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.” Proverbs‬ ‭17:17‬ ‭NIV We’ll all face hard times—sometimes when we least expect it. But a friend’s genuine care can mean the world, a sibling’s unconditional love can’t be replaced, and a neighbor’s practical help is priceless. We need each other more than we realize: emotionally, practically, and spiritually. If you’ve found yourself in a busy season where you’ve unintentionally neglected your true friends, Sister, daughter consin or been too busy for your real family, now is the time to reprioritize. If there’s unresolved conflict with a friend or family member, and it’s slowly deteriorating the relationship, now is the time to set aside your pride and choose to make things right. If you’re silently

GRACE

GRACE Life's In a world often filled with chaos and uncertainty, we often overlook the small pockets of grace that exist around us. Grace, in its various forms, has the power to uplift, inspire, and restore our weary souls. It's the gentle smile of a stranger, the kind gesture of a friend, or the quiet moments of self-reflection that remind us of the beauty that persists amidst the chaos. Grace can be found in the simple act of forgiveness, allowing us to release the burden of resentment and heal the wounds that weigh us down. It's this forgiving grace that sets us free and helps us move forward, leaving the shadows of the past behind. But grace extends far beyond human interactions. Look closely, and you'll find grace tucked away in the natural world. It's the delicate buds blooming after a harsh winter, the symphony of birdsong that greets us in the morning, or the soft touch of a summer breeze on a sweltering day. It's these little moments of beauty that remi

MARITAL HOME

MARITAL HOME! Daughter suspected that Daddy was cheating on Mummy, she snitched on Daddy, got his password, opened his phone while he was sleeping and handed the phone to Mummy. Mummy thanked her, locked the phone, woke Daddy up and told him to change his password because Daughter already knew it. Daddy was disappointed in Daughter. Daughter was disappointed in Mummy. Mummy was very proud of herself. She told Daughter "You see this Man? I have known him for several years before you were born and when you leave for your own husband's house I will be the one with him and vice versa. I will never look for something that will make me see him different from the good man that he has been" I personally believe that Mummy is a wise woman!. What do you think ? The Chronicle

MARRIAGE IS A PARTNERSHIP DEAL

Marriage is a partnership deal where both parties must dedicate themselves to divinity. God instituted marriage and gave man DOMINION Genesis 1:28 Lucifer invaded it and gave the woman INFLUENCE Genesis 3:6 The reason for most divorce is, each one tries to impose their position on the other. Non is greater than the other, they both have different powers and if well harnessed they will put Satan to flat. No one wants to be intimidated rather we all want respect one way or the other. Couples must learn to respect one another in their respective abilities and boundaries. Wife respect your husband decision it's good to communicate with your husband before deciding to do anything on your own. In marriage, we are much happier when we impress and express ourselves and not the other way round. If you must avoid a breakdown in marriage RESPECT ONE ANOTHER. The Chronicle

MY EMOTIONS ARE FALLING!

HELP, MY EMOTIONS ARE FALLING Most of the time in our life when making lifetime decisions especially in MARRIAGE , we must be able to differentiate between our emotions and the will of God for our life. Marriage is the biggest turning point of our lives, we either go upward or downward depending on the choice we make. We are often beclouded with these religious beliefs that whomever we choose as spouses, so long as they are of our christian faith or denomination they will fit into our life by understanding, that is a big fat lie. Jesus while addressing this in Matthew 7:6-7. Give not that which is holy unto dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, 7. Ask, and it shall be given; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be unto you. IN MARRIAGE you must first, Ask for the will of God, secondly, seek thoroughly for every detail about the person until you found the truth, thirdly, knock, for God's favor and the wisdom to have a good h

YOUR SEASON OF LAUGHTER HAS COME

YOUR SEASON OF LAUGHTER HAS COME Your season of laughter has come; it’s a turnaround season. It does not matter what you’re presently going through or had been through.” Your weeping season is expired and mourning season ceased. You’re ready to laugh and dance. God has kept us laughing. He has given us amazing life, supporting family, great ministry and unflinching helpers. The song writer wrote, ‘I can see everything is turning around, everything is turning around,in my favor.’ “Also Master Jesus, you’re the Pillar that holds my life.” God has turned my labor into favor and my mistakes into miracles. This incredible God deserves an incredible praise and worship. Brethren join us at the Apostolic church Nigeria Zion Assembly for a four days power pack programme with Friday night with the Them: A NIGHT WITH THE KING "shout seven thunderous hallelujah to the Lord". Fight For Your Marriage - even if everyone tell you not to!

Fight for your marriage — even if everyone tells you not to Do you want your marriage to work, but you don’t know how? You know staying together is the right thing to do, but everything about our society makes it easier to give up and move on. Even the way people talk about marriage makes you question whether staying together is worth it: “It’s just a signed piece of paper.” “If you don’t like being married, just get a divorce. It’s that simple.” It is easy for someone else to tell you to quit when the going gets tough, but only you are responsible for your decisions. And if you’ll choose to fight for your marriage, God will fight with you. Throughout the Bible, God is described as our help, our shield, our fortress, and our strength. And in Psalm 33 , the Bible promises that “the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love...” Why God Wants You to Fight for Your Marriage We know God wants us to fight for our marriages because marriage was H

Vision is seeing beyond today

This is Transcorp Hilton Hotels at Maitama Abuja. The pictures you see below are of Transcorp Hilton Hotel at Maitama during the 1980s and in recent times. You can see that it was located in a ‘bush’ in the 1980s, but today, it is in the city centre. The BUSH of yesteryears is the city centre of today. I am sure that if you are given a plot in that location in 1980, you will most likely reject it but today, everyone would love to live in that location which is now a highbrow area of Abuja. Vision is seeing beyond today and taking calculated risks to invest in your vision. Nigeria is a great country! The Chronicle

N620 per litre: This isn’t what we voted for- President Tinubu’s supporter laments

N620 per litre: This isn’t what we voted for- President Tinubu’s supporter laments A resident of Kano state, Adamu Salihu, has said that the current hardship Nigerians are facing as a result of the increase in the pump price of petrol is not what he and his family members went out of their way to vote for the Tinubu-led government for. Fuel which moved from N195 per litre to N530 after President Tinubu announced the end of subsidy in his inauguration speech on May 29, hit N617 in Abuja and N620 in Kano in the early hours of Tuesday, July 18. Reacting to the recent development,  Salihu, who said he hails from Bichi LGA in the State, said he might be forced to take to crime. Speaking to DailyTrust, he said “Honestly this new price has hit us very hard. This is not what we voted for. My children and I voted the current government in power. What we are being served is contrary to what we asked for. I am a Nigerian, I deserve to be treated right. I am no longer a youth, I have Children and

THE GARDEN'S SON!

A father saw that his 11-year-old son was crying silently. He asked him. "What's the matter, son?" The young boy replied. "My rich classmates mocked, called me son of a gardener. They said that my father lives only on the money he earns from watering and feeding plants for people" The father paused for a moment, then said. "Come with me son, let's plant some flowers. It might cheer you up" He held his hand and walked him to the garden, then he took out some flower seeds, and said. "Let's carry out an experiment. We will plant two flowers seperately. I will care for one, and you will care for the other. I will water mine with clean water from the lake but you will water yours with dirty water from the pond. We shall see the outcome in the weeks to come" The son was delighted as he joined his father in planting the flowers. It took them some days to finally germinate the flower seeds. They cared for them respectively and watched them gr

FATHER'S DAY: A FATHER IS A SIGNIFICANT ORDER IN THE LIVES OF HIS OFFSPRING.

A father represents more than a donor of a part of him for the procreation of his kind. A father is an epitome of kindness, care, concern, love and empathy. THINGS I WISH I KNEW EARLIER IN LIFE

THINGS I WISH I KNEW EARLIER IN LIFE  1-There are battles you have to conquer on your own. Roads you have to take alone. You can't always rely on your family, friends or even partner to save you from yourself. 2-There isn't just one specific person meant for you to be with romantically. You can fall in love more than once. You don't need to hold onto who leaves you, usually there's a blessing behind it. 3-Choosing to not give your side of the story can sometimes be the most peaceful way to win a battle. Time always reveals the truth. Don't worry. 4- Self care is everything. Invest in yourself. Mental and physical health should always be your priority in life. 5-Dignity is important. Do not ever make any compromises on that count. Don’t allow anyone to take you for granted or disrespect you. Know your worth.  6-Once a mistake, twice a choice and more than that is a pattern. Break the cycle. 7-Never put yourself last. Don’t sacrifice your entire life for people. Sound

ARE YOU FLOURISHING?, BY PASTOR BARR. D. C. ARUKWE JP.

THE WORD FOR TODAY BY PASTOR BARR. D. C. ARUKWE JP. ARE YOU FLOURISHING? (2) THURSDAY 8TH JUNE 2023 'They will flourish in the courts of our God.' #Psalm 92:13 NIV. Inside you there's a battle between your flourishing self - the person you were created to be - and your languishing self. Your languishing self feels uneasy and discontent. You may be drawn to bad habits or things designed to temporarily anaesthetise pain. Your thoughts automatically drift to fear and anger. Learning doesn't feel worthwhile. You think about yourself most of the time. Whereas flourishing [thriving, blossoming and prospering] takes place: (1) In your spirit. You sense you're beginning to receive ideas and energy from an outside source. And you are. You're being empowered by God's Spirit. We talk about being inspired, which literally means 'God breathed'. God breathes into you; you come alive and feel like you've a purpose for living. (2) In your mind. Your t
